Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced senior level Project Supply Chain Manager to work in a seconded capacity with one of our major Client’s.
Candidates will be expected to work in multiple Houston offices (2-3 years), then transition to jobsite in Geismar, Louisiana (1-2 years). The primary Houston office will be Wood’s Park Ten Campus.
This role is a high-visibility senior role within the Client’s Project Management Team.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. Project Assignment Terms could be considered for the right candidate.
Job Description:
Will be part of our Client’s Project Management Team (PMT), seconded in a Supply Chain Manager Role, with primary reporting to the Project’s Supply Chain Director, which will function as an Integrated Project Management Team consisting of Client and Wood personnel.
The PMT will supervise, manage, and control the works and services of the project’s Contractors. The PMT will verify that all actions, works and services undertaken by other Contractors are in conformity with the project’s objectives, requirements, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules and regulations.
This role will be responsible for developing the strategies and plans for the execution of the project. Candidate must be knowledgeable in EPC project schedule development, modularization, global sourcing, interface management, standardization, category management, and complex contract negotiations.
Skills / Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate project planning and setup during FEED phase, including identification and placement Long Lead and Critical Purchase Orders.
- Monitor and control Contractor’s purchasing, expediting, inspection, transportation, subcontracting, and material control activities to ensure that these are performed in accordance with the Contract and approved procedure requirements.
- Ensure that the Contractors develop and submit in a timely manner all Supply Chain Plans and Procedures for the project in accordance with the requirements of the Contract. Review and approve the Plans and Procedures developed by the Contractors.
- Review and approve the technical bid evaluation performed by the Contractors against the offers received. In the case of subcontracts, review proposed organigrams, manpower plans, resources to be mobilized, method statements for the execution of the works, and subcontractor’s ability to take on additional works. Ensure that proposed subcontractors have allowed for the provision of sufficient Site Supervision and HSSE personnel.
- Monitor order placement, manufacturing progress and delivery against the requirements of the Contract schedule.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experience in executing mega-EPC projects with local and remote resources, and utilization of global low-cost execution centers.
- Familiarity of Category Management, Master Agreements, and Standardization.
- Experience in executing projects utilizing robust material management ERP systems such as AVEVA, SmartPlant, and SAP.
- Experience in negotiating complex terms and conditions and establishing commercial strategies.
- Successful history of leading and executing large complex EPC projects ($1 billion in materials & equipment spend).
- Experience in executing projects with a large modulization component. Knowledgeable of the associated schedule development, material and equipment sourcing strategy, contract formation, and the international supplier market.
- Strong understanding of the Transportation & Logistics, and Supplier Quality Inspection functions.
- Ability to travel domestically and globally as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ Procurement experience demonstrating results and progression to a similar position.
- Detailed understanding of key contracting procurement concepts, principles, and terms and conditions.
- Robust knowledge of Head Contracts and commercial management.
- Ability to undertake complex commercial evaluations and negotiations.
- Familiarity with industry Supply Chain principles and techniques.
