Location: This position is available in Copenhagen, Denmark; Aarhus, Denmark; Vejle, Denmark; Bristol, United Kingdom; London, United Kingdom; Edinburgh, United Kingdom
As a Senior Geophysicist, your main objective will be to provide high-quality geophysical support to our clients in the offshore wind industry.
Areas of responsibility:
- Scoping, contracting, coordinating and managing geophysical site investigation activities and collation of information for all phases of an Offshore Wind Farm site development.
- Managing geophysical data sets, overseeing data QC, and onward data evaluation for future site development activities.
- Leading the creating of 3D ground models, including the interpretation of seismic data sets and the integration of geotechnical data (borehole, CPT and vibrocore data) for both wind turbine array and export cable route zones.
- Geohazard identification and risk assessment.
- Preparing and reviewing geophysical technical reports.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient exchange of knowledge.
- Mentoring of junior geophysicists and engineers.
- Supporting the development of new geophysical initiatives and services within the department and wider organisation.
Your background:
- You should hold either a Master's degree or significant equivalent experience in a geoscience related discipline with a strong emphasis on the practical application of your skillset.
- You should thrive in a multi-disciplinary, international environment and speak and write English fluently.
- You should have a strong drive and take the initiative and responsibility for your assignments and find motivation in creating excellent results through teamwork.
- Have a proven track record in delivering large geophysical projects, with a strong technical focus on ground modelling and/or geophysical site investigation and associated data sets.
- Have relevant experience working as a Geophysicist in a related field, such as offshore renewables, O&G, etc.
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients and other consultants effectively.
- Experience in the use of industry standard software, such as IHS Kingdom, SonarWiz and ArcGIS.
