We are looking for a motivated, bright, and talented Environmental Remediation Technician to join our company in one of our New England offices. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, technical specialists, geologists, and scientists across our practice to provide operations, maintenance, environmental sampling, and construction support for our industrial, commercial, and municipal clients. An Environmental Remediation Technician will perform various field activities associated with the environmental consulting industry. Position responsibilities will include remediation system installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair; remediation system monitoring, data collection, and tracking; support to the characterization of contaminated sites; remediation construction oversight and monitoring; heavy equipment operation; and contractor management and observation. Fieldwork, data collection, record keeping, daily communication, and project staff interaction will be essential to the candidate’s success. The position requires traveling and working on remediation and construction sites, primarily in New England, but it may also include sites in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Location: Remote - New England Area
Travel: Potential up to 90% travel in the New England and surrounding Region (CT, VT, NH, RI, NY, NJ, PA, MA, ME)
\n- Performing multi-media environmental remediation system management, operation, monitoring, recordkeeping, troubleshooting, optimization, maintenance, and repair.
- Collecting samples, field data, and documentation of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media in support of site investigation and remediation projects.
- Performing field activities, including test pitting and soil sample collection, soil boring and groundwater monitoring, well installation oversight, groundwater gauging and sampling, soil vapor and indoor air surveys, hazardous building material surveys, stormwater sampling, and aquifer testing.
- Performing monitoring and control inspections of various remediation and construction projects, including field supervision, management, and documentation of remediation and environmental service providers.
- Operating construction equipment and related tooling support ongoing remediation and construction projects.
- Performing office activities, including assistance with project planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, data compilation, remediation costing, work plan, and report preparation, providing regular communications on the status of activities, and health and safety management.
- Assisting project staff in preparing various regulatory submittals, work plans, technical memorandums, and/or engineering design reports.
- Candidate should be a self-starter with a desire to perform onsite fieldwork in a variety of environments and possess strong mechanical and construction-related skills to support a wide range of science, engineering, and construction projects. A successful candidate will also be detail-oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and possess the ability to perform in-field calculations, read and understand construction and system process drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

- High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus).
- 8 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, construction, and/or related industry.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A current driver’s license.
- Ability to work both independently and on large multi-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to work in the field for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel and ability to operate independently.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform fieldwork in rough terrain.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation and use of hand tools in both construction and process equipment environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic data collection, and construction management software is a plus.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-Hour Construction (OSHA 30-hour training is a plus).

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
