Job Duties:
Woodbridge Holdings Inc. has an opening at its facility in Tanner, Alabama for the position of Mechanical Engineer - Tooling.
- Provide overall direction and training regarding company equipment, tooling program, and design issues.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Ensure safe work practices of personnel through audits, quality services of tooling programs, and company business objectives.
- Establish maintenance routines and procedures for tooling program.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support services to site.
- Provide feedback on department Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and tooling wellness.
- Complete performance management plans and review targets to ensure objectives and training needs are being met.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Stay abreast of new tooling and related mechanical engineering practices to promote optimal functioning.
- Direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering designs and performance specifications.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine and system malfunctions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus three (3) years of experience working in the automotive tooling industry with specific experience
- Working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems;
- Developing individual component and overall system designs using 3D CAD surface modeling and AutoCAD;
- Working with robotics and PLC systems with ability to troubleshoot problems;
- Performing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM principles; and
- Completing audits for maintenance routines and procedures specific to ensuring quality assurance for automotive machinery
