Dining Services Cook Woodhaven Retirement Community
Part-time/Full-time 10:30am 7pm, $17.50/hour (incl. a .50/hour attendance bonus)

Under the general direction of the Director of Culinary, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the proper functioning and food preparation of the dietary department.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to cook a variety of nutritional meals in large quantities at the proper times and temperatures, preserving flavor and appearance
- Knowledge of mechanically altered and therapeutic diets
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dietary service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation requirements, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
- Responsible for maintaining proper/hygienic food handling techniques
- Maintenance of kitchen records including temperatures, production records, and inventory control
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- May act as a dietary aide when the head cook is on duty and as needed.
- Responsible for identifying that all residents have had their meal served or delivered to them
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check
Experience:
- 1 year long-term care/hospital cooking experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred
- Senior Dining / banquet experience a plus
- Food Sanitation Certification preferred
- ServeSave Certified preferred however not required. We will train candidates with experience
- Ability to be accurate, concise, and detail-oriented
