Job Title: Accountant (Accounts Payable)
Department: Administration (Finance)
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Supervises: N/A
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: This staff is position involves assisting in administrative financial support of Woodlands. Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports. Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Conducts special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures. Instructs or assigns work to bookkeepers and accounting clerks engaged in general accounting activities. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions. Utilizes computer to input, retrieve or display accounting information.
Performs other appropriate related and unrelated assigned duties.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associates or currently working on Associates required.
Licensure/Certification:
Experience: Three years of accounting experience preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves to assist Chief Financial Officer administrative financial activities
- Performs a variety of general accounting support tasks including, but not limited to: Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records; Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, etc.). Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs. Compiles data and prepares a variety of reports as required; Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors, residents/customers; Recommends actions to CFO to resolve discrepancies; and Investigates questionable data

- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
