We are currently searching for a Claims Supervisor to join our Team. In this role you will supervise, lead and develop Level 1 and Level 2 Life Claim Examiners. The Claims Supervisor plays a vital role in helping manage workflow and staff, ensuring quality and efficient services are provided to claimants, beneficiaries and sales associates while assuring that the practices and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with various state regulations.

We are looking for someone to:
- Oversee the investigation and payment of claims for life and annuity, which amounts to approximately $50 million annually. Evaluate all evidence to make claim decisions that follow our internal guidelines and state prescribed regulations.
- Work closely with the Claim Manager to coordinate work flow making sure it is being handled as efficiently as possible and that claim payments are completed within the departments service levels.
- Oversee hiring, staffing, and training. Evaluate associate performance using established WoodmenLife guidelines. Effectively lead, coach, develop, and mentor team members using performance management tools and other appropriate techniques.
- Accountable for achieving organization and regulatory service level expectations to meet deliverables to our customers.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, contractual obligations and regulations to include sharing and implementing with the team.
- Maintain effective relationships with home office and Sales associates striving to understand the customers needs and requirements. Act with the member in mind, adheres to the organizations core values, and demonstrates integrity and trust.
Minimum Qualifications:
This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents and traits:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Previous supervisory experience or 5 years training or team lead experience in an insurance, financial services or operations environment strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in a claims environment, preferably a life claims environment, preferred
- Ability to understand insurance regulations and translate them to processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of WoodmenLife products and procedures preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers including listening, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate ability to maintain open communication, give and receive constructive feedback, and build effective relationships.
- Excellent customer service, analytical, decision-making, priority, attention to detail skills, and growth mindset.
- The ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service. Engages well with others and are passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience.
