Job Summary
Responsible for the acquisition of sufficient qualified candidates for employment to support the staffing needs of Woods Services. Responsible for developing, coordinating and monitoring employment activities that pertain to the needs of Woods. Ensures Woods’ compliance with Federal, State, and local employment regulations.
- Develops, coordinates and maintains employment practices and systems that ensure compliance with Federal, State, and program specific regulations pertaining to hiring, promotions and transfers.
- Coordinates internal and external recruitment activities and strategies with all programs and departments.
- Attends job fairs and career fairs to promote employment opportunities at Woods.
- Responds to telephone, walk-in and written inquires pertaining to employment activities.
- Reviews and screens applications and resumes.
- Reviews and maintains information in the applicant tracking system. Utilizes the applicant database to select qualified candidates and track pertinent recruitment information.
- Conducts interviews and screenings and monitors applicant testing when applicable.
- Processes transfer requests and reviews employee personnel files for eligibility status and requirements.
- Coordinates interview schedules with applicants and mangers for vacant positions.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with all staff, hiring managers, and directors to whom employment services and recruitment are provided.
- Monitors internal requests for vacant positions.
- Utilizes the internet career sources to post assigned vacant positions when applicable.
- Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits.
- Contacts applicants to schedule interviews and discuss employment opportunities.
- Verifies information and references provided by applicants. Verifies credentials to ensure applicants meet the educational, licensing, and experiential requirements of the positions.
- Refers screened candidates to management for interviews/selection and extends external and internal offers of employment. Reviews employment procedures and requirements with newly hired employees, transfers, and promotions. Creates job offer letters and “not selected” emails when applicable.
- Assists with scheduling newly hired employees, transfers, and promotions to ensure that all post-hiring forms are completed, copies of all required documents for personnel files are obtained and proper orientation/training is completed.
- Attends orientation to ensure all new hires arrive on time and with all required employment documentation.
- Ensures all policies and procedures about employment activities are followed.
- Conducts exit interviews
- Ensures required records are maintained pertaining to employment and in compliance with Federal, State, and local employment laws.
- Assists the Human Resources Department as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Talent Acquisition Manager or HR Director.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience in Human Resources, recruitment, or a closely related field required.
- Knowledge of employment laws, and experience conducting interviews and screening resumes is preferred.
- Experience in health care or human services preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to assertively and effectively contact, communicate, and approach prospective applicants/candidates for employment.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
