We are seeking a Catering Manager to join our award-winning team.
This position is responsible for managing new and existing accounts to ensure all revenue goals (food and beverage and room rentals) are achieved or exceeded. Solicit business and participates in organizations relevant to the specific market assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meets with prospective clients, discusses menus, wines, bar, room set-up arrangements, audio visual and other needs.
- Coordinates and communicates all required information such as changes, revisions updates and cancellations to the various departments involved in servicing his/her accounts.
- Visits competing Hotels regularly to review Hotel reader boards in an effort to develop leads.
- Compiles a list of prospective customers for use of sales leads based in information from newspapers, business directories and other publications.
- Prepares Catering sales contracts and obtains signatures and advance deposits for function.
- Compiles all pertinent Catering reports as assigned.
- Inputs and retrieves information from the computer system for file maintenance.
- Responsible for soliciting new clients, quoting prices and credit terms and the preparation of Catering Sales contracts.
- Responsible for achieving quotas of bookings, including direct solicitation on potential new accounts via cold calls and referrals.
- Coordinates with outside vendors such as florists, music providers, bakeries, etc., to ensure proper timing of deliveries.
- Greets social clients at the start of events to ensure all service standards and expectations have been met.
- All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Meets legal age requirements for the position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Prior Catering Sales or Banquet experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS, LICENSES
Valid California Driver License is required. Food Handler certification required.

PAY SCALE
The salary for this position is between $80,000 and $85,000 per year. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual wage rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
