I. Position Overview:
The position is responsible for working independently in the performance of AP accounting processes in support of the accounting and finance functions of the plant operation in order to provide management with accurate, timely and relevant financial information for decision making purposes. This position maintains daily AP accounting processes including review, payment, and reporting of AP invoices.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and follow up on open items in accounts payable log.
- Maintain and monitor AP aging report and credits from vendors.
- Research “Received Not Vouchered” transactions to determine validity.
- Research and resolve incomplete AP transactions.
- Review and code AP invoices for payment prior to processing.
- Maintenance of AP electronic files.
- Creates and generates various AP financial reports using queries and spreadsheet analysis.
- Work with management to identify and implement improvements.
- Resolve all open issues and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems
- Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
III. Position Requirements:
Education or Equivalent:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience:
- 3 years experience in Accounts Payable
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Demonstrated intermediate mathematical ability.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Good organizational skills and accuracy with high level attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with group members, leaders, and outside suppliers.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening
