Description

The primary responsibility of the Account Director, Channel Marketing is to provide overall strategic direction for their clients and their clients’ distribution/dealer/agent network, Identifying and translating business objectives into marketing initiatives and providing strong brand stewardship throughout the engagement. This includes collaborating with the strategy, creative, media, public relations and digital teams, as well as their Managing Director, Client Services to develop integrated distribution/dealer/agent program strategies and marketing plans, ensuring a high degree of strategy is embedded in all aspects of their clients’ programs. Additional responsibilities would also include senior-level guidance during the creation of program/campaign scoping, timelines and budgets, as well as to manage overarching, consolidated program budgets and work-back schedules throughout the life of a client’s program/campaign. This role acts as the senior agency advocate on accounts, monitoring overall program scope creep and providing detailed oversight of project transactions.

 

The Account Director builds lasting relationships with their clients and their clients’ distribution/dealer/agent network, negotiating resolutions to clients and the clients distribution/dealer/agent conflicts as needed, as well as communicating regularly to provide ongoing strategic recommendations leading to consistent account growth. The Account Director works closely with their Managing Director, Client Services, assessing their current clients’ marketing needs and developing strategic solutions that result in the growth of programs offered and existing account revenue.

Additional responsibilities of the Account Director include managing their assigned client services, channel marketing associates, establishing training and development plans, managing growth opportunities, managing group/individual utilization(s) and realization(s), as well as executing annual performance appraisals.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures alignment of spec work with RFP/opportunity strategy
  • Ensures client signs contracts and SOWs/work authorizations prior to initiation of agency work
  • Maintains deep understanding of their clients' industry/segment
  • Maintains deep understanding of clients and their customer profiles
  • Maintains deep understanding of clients' competitors
  • Maintains deep understanding of channel marketing
  • Maintains deep understanding of co-op programs
  • Maintains deep understanding of communication and customer service needs for clients’ distribution/dealer/agent network
  • Maintains deep understanding of onboarding and training a distribution/dealer/agent network
  • Manages out-of-scope requests at program/campaign level
  • Manages client budgets
  • Serves as primary business owner for both client and internal account teams for all elements relative to their clients
  • Develops ongoing strategic recommendations that solve business objectives for their clients, above and beyond contracted client engagement
  • Ensures team is successful with execution of entire client engagement
  • Owns client conflict resolution (disputes and negotiations)
  • Ensures alignment of creative and client strategy and spot checks, as necessary
  • Manages individual client financial metrics
  • Manages client/agency performance review
  • Manages existing client revenue goals and projections
  • Ensures accurate and thorough ongoing revenue forecast for their clients
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the client's organizational structure and operations
  • Manages assigned client services team members
  • Maintains professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications


  • 10+ years of account management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or journalism
  • Channel Marketing experience
  • Co-op program experience
  • Marketing agency experience
  • Skilled in collaborating with team members to create program/campaign estimates aligned with proposed scopes of work
  • Skilled in program/campaign and project financial management and analysis
  • Skilled in successfully managing programs/campaigns with multiple complex projects, components and deliverables
  • Thorough knowledge of agency capabilities/offerings
  • Mastery in developing client proposals and SOWs
  • Mastery in developing program/campaign goals and benchmarking
  • Mastery of program/campaign and project financial management and analysis
  • Skilled in managing client financial metrics
  • Mastery in leadership of integrated strategy throughout client relationships
  • Skilled in developing integrated marketing plans and budgets aligned with client’s business objectives
  • Skilled in providing strong brand stewardship for clients throughout relationship
  • Skilled in successful negotiations and conflict resolution
  • Skilled in growing client relationships and providing successful conflict resolution
  • Proven success in growing business within respective clients
  • Experience managing and successfully developing direct reports
