Development Coordinator Job Description
Worker Power is a 501(c)4 non-profit organization dedicated to building power and creating a voice in politics for working people. Led by hospitality workers, union members, students, and leaders from our immigrant and refugee communities, we engage in electoral and policy campaigns in Arizona, Southern California and other strategic locations in the United States.
Worker Power is currently seeking an energetic and resourceful Development Coordinator to work with our Executive Director and Board Chair to expand the impact of our work by coordinating ongoing fundraising efforts. The position offers an opportunity for a dynamic individual to grow and help lead one of the country’s premier social, economic and racial justice organizations. Development Coordinator Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Executive Director in developing and tracking fundraising goals and strategies
- Working with the Executive Director and Board Chair to build and maintain strong donor relationships
- Helping to create a positive, and inspiring reputation for the organization
- Facilitating meetings with fundraising team
- Coordinating communication with Worker Power’s institutional and individual donors
- Plan and coordinate one or more large Worker Power fundraising events each year.
- Preparing and presenting reports on fundraising activities to Worker Power’s Executive
Director and Board Chair
- Serving as grants administrator: writing grant proposals and acknowledgments for grants received; ensuring compliance by the organization of terms stipulated in the grant award.
Qualifications
- A passion for workers’ and social justice and work experience with labor unions, progressive non-profits, or progressive political campaigns.
- 3 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor communication. Intensive experience with a shorter period of time may be considered.
- Willingness to work outside of normal office hours, including nights and weekends
- Sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize a a complex set of tasks while maintaining strict attention to detail
- Solid project management skills, including ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, especially in tense situations.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Google Suite), and donor management software (preferably Everyaction)
- Complete COVID vaccination or commitment to complete the COVID vaccination process, including all recommended booster vaccinations.

- Worker Power’s Development Coordinator will work out of our Phoenix office
- The position is an exempt, salaried position
- Salary is competitive, depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
