JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for working with business partners across Solutions, Consulting and Engineering (SC&E) to define requirements that will deliver business intelligence driven outcomes for the WWT Services organization. The Business Intelligence Analyst is expected to have a data driven mindset and using this mindset to develop solutions that will aid SC&E’s leadership in decision making, creating strategies, and analysis of their business. The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for becoming proficient in WWT Service line processes, systems, data and business to best serve their stakeholders with valuable and relevant analytical solutions that aid in simplifying the complex and driving data driven decision making.
The ideal candidate will have a background in defining, implementing, and validating approaches to help our business partners use data to drive the narrative of our Solutions-Led journey. Additionally, the Business Intelligence analyst will have expertise in best practices around managing the lifecycle of a business intelligence project, leveraging existing methodologies such as waterfall or agile, and understanding how to dynamically apply these principles to optimally operate within the WWT environment.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will assist in driving consistency and process across the team to optimize reporting and analytics success.
The ideal candidate will have a high EQ, be able to work independently and as part of a team, build cross functional relationships and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, with changing priorities and ambiguity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/COMPETENCIES
Gain an in-depth knowledge of current data processes and business reporting practices through shadowing, interviewing key participants, and maintaining an understanding of the business.
Ability to clearly and effectively guide and align business reporting outcomes and requirements to what is technically feasible, while making the business feel like their needs and requirements are being met and listened to
Analyze, draft, validate and finalize business reporting and technical data requirements.
Create User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Reporting Test Cases and facilitate UAT sessions.
Assist with support of system changes/ implementation related to data management & quality on an as-needed basis.
Responsible for working regularly with IT data teams to ensure good data quality and report performance.
Core competencies in the creation of Reporting Business Requirements, Wireframes, Prototypes, and Data Diagrams.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, analytics, business, or MIS preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of relevant business experience preferred such as analytics, project management, service delivery support, or data warehouse projects
Proficiency in reporting and data visualization using software like Tableau, Power BI, and others
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software suite
Experience in the information technology industry is preferred
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrates problem solving, analytical, and innovative thinking skills
Strong presentation skills, ability to professionally communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the business with professional confidence and maturity preferred
