RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all stages of pre-litigation and litigation matters with assistance from outside counsel as needed, including coordination of Legal Hold Notices, subpoenas, etc..
- Work with, manage and ensure cost effective services from outside counsel.
- Investigate and/or provide legal advice regarding investigations of employee misconduct, including conducting interviews, source document reviews, etc. Assemble and oversee appropriate multi-disciplinary investigation team (could include HR, InfoSec, Facilities/Security, Risk, etc.) depending upon subject-matter and functional input necessary.
- Provide employment law advice and counsel.
- Assist in the preparation of employee legal notices and reminder of employee pre and post-employment obligations.
- Ability to provide a high level of client service and perform excellent work under time pressure.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in litigation, investigations, and/or employment law. Corporate law experience supporting a variety of functions and prior law firm experience preferred.
- General experience with employment and non-compete agreements.
- Prefer an individual who has worked both in a law firm setting and an organization with an international operational presence.
- Some travel up to 10% may be required.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills, including sensitivity and tact for difficult or challenging conversations.
- Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills; sensitive to cultural differences within a global organization and resulting impact on work environment and legal compliance.
- The successful candidate will be collaborative, analytical, flexible and proactive.
- JD and licensed to practice in Missouri (or willing to apply for admission from another state).
