**This is a hybrid role based out of Novato, CA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Jointly with the Senior Director of Production and Inventory Planning develops planning and production schedules for components and finished goods for Petwise product lines.
  • Manages plans and purchases from Asia, Mexico, and US sourced materials and finished goods using planning methods such as make to order, make to stock or make to forecast.
  • Coordinates with Product Development, Inventory, Finance, and suppliers to ensure on-time, cost efficient delivery of goods.
  • Collaborates with Product Development, Sales, Inventory Control, Demand Planning, Order Management and Finance teams to ensure that seasonal and program changes are implemented in a controlled manner.
  • Works together with Sales, Product Development, Quality, and Planning Teams on launching existing and new products in global markets.
  • Communicates daily with Petwise HK office and McAllen production teams resolving any manufacturing and production issues (e.g. material shortages, production delays and other potential delays).
  • Product Lifecycle management from market launches, manufacturing, production and shipping to discontinuation.
  • Communicates with other departments proactively.
  • Leads weekly Planning meetings with Petwise McAllen manufacturing team that includes representatives from Production, Costing, Purchasing, Scheduling and Quality assurance departments.
  • Leads semi-monthly Planning meetings that includes representatives from Product Development, Demand Planning, Sales and Quality assurance.
  • Manage re-working inventory and transfers for product categories.
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 1-3 years of Materials Management and Production Planning experience.
  • Familiar with materials management techniques, e.g. MRP, EDI, Capacity Planning, BOM management
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong math skills are a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, be open to suggestions and able to collaborate with others to solve problems and offer solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple projects
  • Advanced experience using MS Excel, Tableau and Power BI
  • Monitors overall physical and accurate inventory through SAGE database system for each warehouse location
  • “Go to” resource for SAGE training and system related details
  • Complete transactions for reworks, 3rd party warehouses and DCs, DC adjustments and monthly catnip usage
  • Monthly reconciliation of inventory for month-end close and reporting
  • Assist AP in matching, resolving discrepancies and closing Pos
  • Handles SAGE item maintenance
  • Responsible for uploading information from PD database, SYNC
  • Audit database system information for accuracy
  • Entry of mass data changes using the SAGE Data Porter
  • Supervises inputting of daily inventory receipts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Conducts replenishment transfers for eComm warehouses and monthly reconciliation
  • Recommends inventory to be scrapped monthly for approval by Senior Management
  • Manages annual Physical Inventory for all locations
  • Analyze variances providing summary of results to Senior Management
  • Works with Finance in ensuring inventory accuracy and alignment across physical and inventory levels in SAGE
  • Training/Managing/Coaching team
  • Some domestic travel
  • Actively participates in process improvement initiatives and documentation of those processes
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in an inventory management role
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite with particular emphasis on Excel
  • Solid accounting and finance foundation. Cost accounting knowledge – i.e. Inventory, COGS, manufacturing variance analysis
  • Proven analytics and data analysis
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing or Operations environment for wholesaler
  • SAGE Experience
  • ERP/MRP system knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.

SALARY RANGE:

The base salary range is 70K – 90K. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, location, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
