Railroad Track Inspector

The Railroad Track Inspector is a contract position based in Work From Home, USA.
Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Inspection of rail track and support infrastructure for greenfield and brownfield clients.
- Develop railroad track infrastructure capital maintenance programs for rehabilitation.
- Responsible for development of design criteria and construction specifications.
- Oversee preparation of quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of capital cost estimates.
- Conduct peer reviews and facilitate quality assurance reviews.
- Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub-consultants, contractors and regulatory and environmental approval agencies.
- Actively engage with internal and external clients and coordinate the work with other disciplines.
- Prepare or assist in preparing design work and project scheduling.
- Actively encourage and support a safety-oriented culture.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have 20 years prior experience in railroad track inspection services with a Class 1 Railroad.
- A degree in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution is preferred.
- Conversant with American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of Way Association standards and Class 1 Railroad track inspection standards.
- Conversant with Federal Railroad Administration and Transport Canada standards.
