What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Entry Operator position at WPAS?
Job Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Department Manager and the immediate Supervisor, the Data Entry Operator performs processing activities related to processing employer reports and self-payments requiring occasional assistance with non-routine duties.
Job Duties:
- Process checks for daily deposit, ensuring that all payments are entered accurately.
- Enter and balance employer reports and self-pay remittances in a timely manner.
- Use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to find and process employer reporting discrepancies and errors.
- Index documents on a continual basis for electronic retrieval.
- Create and maintain member records as needed.
- Release and post balanced batches.
- Must show continuous improvement, ability to increase volume of workload, ability to work independently and as a productive team member.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum qualifications:
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment
- Demonstrated ability to keep calm and positive within all communications.
- Must be proficient in 10-key by touch.
- Proven ability to have a professional appearance with excellent verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and staff in other departments.
- Requires excellent skills in grammar, letter composition, punctuation, and other related office skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and external clients.
- Proven ability to accurately and timely review all entered information
- Demonstrates initiative along with good concentration, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, along with organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Utilize computer and phone systems to be able to effectively perform the essential functions of the position
- Requires a dependable attendance record
- 6 months within an internal position of Data Entry Operator Trainee
or
- 3 years of office work with 1 year working within a high-volume accounting data entry or successfully completed internal Eligibility Specialist Trainee designation.
Preferred qualification:
- Associates degree in Accounting.
- 2-4 years of experience in an accounting environment.
