What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Testing Technician position at WSB LLC?
Experience and/or certifications held related to construction inspection or construction materials testing is not required but preferred. Must pass the following exams within 60 days of employment:
- Nuclear Density Safety Course. (if you do not currently have)
What you will do:
- Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.
- Provide test and inspection data for environmental, engineering, field, and laboratory projects. Must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Collect soil and concrete samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports.
- Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare reports and/or technical data.
- Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment. Maintain results log.
- Confer with Engineering staff on test efforts.
- Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
- Requires some lifting and carrying.
- Field assignments may require travel and/or work to be performed on site.
- Work with other task team members and leaders.
- Considerable contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors expected.
What you will bring:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requires the ability to lift / carry a case that weighs 95 pounds and push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Able to prepare reports and documentation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
