Our Technology team is growing, and we are looking for a talented JavaScript Web Developer to lead a variety of geospatial development projects across our tech stack. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts, systems analysts, and developers to build, configure, and deliver cutting edge solutions to our clients.
We develop solutions that leverage leading geospatial APIs including Esri, MapBox, OpenLayers and more. Our technology stack is modern and focuses on Typescript, Node.js, PostgreSQL with material design focused front-ends deployed and managed using industry standard DevOps tools.
This position can be located at any of our MN, CO, or TX offices.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and enhance our main front-end platforms.
- Design, develop, and document new user-facing features.
- Work with application owners to gather and refine application requirements.
- Work with application owners and clients to assess and scope web-centric geospatial projects.
- Build, configure, and test spatial REST API’s to enable secure access to data and execute complex tasks or workflows.
- Design and manage schema changes in various types of spatial SQL databases.
- Design and publish beautiful web maps for use in various spatial web applications.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, GIS, Mathematics, or Technical science (e.g. Engineering)
- 2 years of experience designing, building, and deploying web applications
- 2 years of direct JavaScript/Typescript experience in multiple front-end frameworks
- Experience consuming/using RESTful APIs
- Experience in lifecycle application development, code documentation (Gitlab, Jenkins)
Preferred Expertise:
- Experience developing web applications using JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs
- Proven knowledge in writing SQL and managing spatial SQL databases
- Experience developing and deploying RESTful APIs
- Git, Docker, and other Linux command tools
- Solid skills in Python and spatial Python libraries (arcpy, shapely)
- Amazon Web Services, Azure or similar cloud developer experience
