What you will do: As a Construction Technician you will
Materials Testing Technician
- Collect samples of soils and construction materials in the field to measure physical characteristics
- Perform a variety of tests on construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete/mortar/grout, reinforcing steel and asphalt using materials-testing equipment
- Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily report sand timesheets, in a timely manner
- Navigate to multiple locations each day
Survey Instrument Person
- Assist Survey Crew Chief in attaining thorough and accurate data collection
- Set stakes for construction surveys
- Operate GPS and robotic Total Station
- Navigate to multiple locations each day
Pipeline Site Checker/Inspector
- Flag proposed electric and gas routes
- Document conditions found on site through applications on an iPad
- Navigate to multiple locations each day
What you will bring:
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather and site conditions
- Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
- Good written and oral communications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
Preferred experience:
- Completion of the Opportunity Training Program
