What You Will Do: 

• As a Director of Transportation Design, you will play the lead role in the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients.
• You will collaborate with other groups/disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients.
• Identify and pursue strategic partnership, business development, and individual project opportunities.
• Lead contract negotiations and prepare detailed scope of services, estimate fees and establish budgets for potential projects.
• Manage strategic pursuits and projects.
• Provide team management and program leadership for the team, including talent acquisition and staff development.
• Explore, suggest, respond to, and track upcoming projects and programs.
• Monitor backlog, pipeline and opportunity management within a CRM environment.
• You will also help with proposals, project budgets and schedules, planning activities, subcontractors and public involvement and other presentation opportunities.
• You will manage day-to-day operations of the Transportation Design group in North Texas.

As you advance in your career, you may also plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure that projects are delivered within prescribed time frames and budgets. The coordination activities include regular communication with the client, project schedule and budget oversight and subconsultant coordination.

What You Will Bring: 

• The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school and 10 years of experience in Transportation / Municipal engineering or related field.
• 10 years of experience in cultivating strategic partnerships in a leadership position.
• Proven ability to deliver services and/or projects in the market.
• Ability to build relationships with engineers, contractors, and government leaders.
• Track record of developing high performing teams through mentoring, accountability, and feedback.
• Proven ability to build and professionally develop a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to drive growth within a team and desire to scale success to multi-disciplinary team growth.
• Ability to cross-sell services among transportation, surface water, municipal engineering, construction, environmental, and other services company offers.  Ability to collaborate with staff from multiple offices to deliver projects and programs to our clients.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• A TX PE license or ability to obtain in the next 6 months, experience with managing a team of 10 -12 with 2-3 direct reports and a large portfolio of projects.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position
