Job Description
Searcys @ The British Academy are looking for an Event Supervisor to work across its diverse Events space,
As an Event Supervisor you would be working closely with the Event Manager / Deputy General Manager to assist in the day to day running of the events consisting of weddings, corporate events and dinners
This role will be based on 10 hours each week with the potential to pick up a further additional 20-30 hours during the busy periods.
Job Type: Part Time/Full time
Payrate £13.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring that all aspects meet or exceed client specifications and company standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of event staff, including setup, catering service.
- Coordinate with sales coordinator daily pre and post events.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and team members during events, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and manage event schedules, ensuring that all activities run on time and any necessary adjustments are communicated to all relevant parties.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, as well as compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety guidelines.
- Conduct pre- and post-event walkthroughs, assessing the event space for cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues.
- Train and mentor event staff, providing guidance and support to promote a positive working environment and excellent customer service.
- Assist with event planning and logistics, including room layouts, audio visual, and special requests.
- Continuously evaluate event processes and procedures, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in event management, catering, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Practical problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding effective solutions to unexpected challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required by the event schedule.
