WSP is looking for a Building Technology Systems Senior Consultant (ESS Design) in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA  specializing in Electronic Security Systems (ESS) design. Your Impact

• Design, coordination and integration of Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Emergency Communications, Video Surveillance and Video Management Systems. 
• Provide designs for Electronic Security Systems for multiple building types, including Commercial, Healthcare and Residential/Mixed-Use.
• Coordinate with client design teams and owner representatives to gather and document system and design requirements.
• Produce Telecommunications design deliverables throughout the life cycle of a project, from Programming/Concept through Construction Documentation.  Including Contract Drawings, CSI Specifications, Reports and Narratives.
• Have a deep understanding of vendor product specifications, comparative functionality and the integration of systems by separate vendors to provide seamless end-to-end systems. 
• Act as Security Specialty Lead for the Western Region.  
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ESS.
• Be responsible for staff development, and mentor developing professionals. 
• Coordiate ESS resourcing across prjects thoughout the US in coordinaiton with other Regional Secuity Specialty Leads. 
• Develop proposals and support marketing and strategic growth initatives.
• Prepare for and attend project interviews. 
• Act as Building Technology Project Manager throughout the lifecycle of a project.
• Manage project resources including staff and sub-contractors 
• Manage project fee allocation and burn. 
• Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, design teams and vendors. 
• Attend and participate in project meetings. 
• Perform and document site visits prior to, during and at completion of design (some out-of-town travel will be required, primarily within the West Coast region)
• Have an understanding of local and national codes and standards (NEC, IBC, FGI, TIA, UFC) related to the design and regulation of Electronic Security Systems.
   

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Perform and document site visits prior to, during and at completion of design (some out-of-town travel will be required, primarily within the West Coast region).
• Have an understanding of local and national codes and standards (NEC, IBC, FGI, TIA, UFC) related to the design and regulation of Electronic Security Systems.
• Possess a four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience in ESS design.
• 5-7 years’ experience designing ESS systems for the Architectural and Electrical consulting industry.  
• 3-5 years' experience in acting as ESS Lead for staff and projects. 
• Broad and deep experience in ESS design for various markets, sectors, building types and projects size.
• Possess working knowledge of Telecommunications Systems in sufficinet depth to act as an overall Technology (Telecom and Security) project manager. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.
• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
• Experience in working directly with clients.
• U.S. Security clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. 
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry Certification (ASIS CPP, BICSI RCDD, Cisco CCNA).
• AutoCAD and Revit experience.
• Knowledge of Audiovisual systems.
• Experience in designing Public Address, conference room AV, digital signage, collaboration AV and educational AV systems.
• Integrator or specialty consultant experience
