WSP is currently initiating a search for Construction Electrical Inspector for our San Bernardino, CA office. The following locations will also be considered: Los Angeles, CA. Your Impact
- Assists the Resident Engineer performing inspection and documentation of contractor activities
- Apply diversified knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices to report and resolve construction issues and problems
- Elements to be inspected or monitored may include electrical work, including traffic monitoring systems, fiber optic systems, highway lighting and traffic signal systems
- May also inspect maintenance of traffic, earthwork, drainage, utility relocation, storm water pollution prevention implementation and compliance, construction of roadway sections, pedestrian and bike facilities, structure elements of work, landscape work and other similar activities

Review plans and specification for constructability and prepare report
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- 9 years of electrical inspection experience in highway/bridge/public works industry
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and material
- Experience with Caltrans Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual.
- Full understanding of public construction contracts for the state highway system and local agencies
- Ability to review and analyze construction drawings and contract specifications
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English
- Ability to review construction submittals, request for information and respond
- Ability to respond to and resolve field construction issues
- Ability to inspect, document and coordinate site work including material testing
- Valid CA driver's license
- Solid written and verbal skills
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Roadway construction inspection experience on highway/pubic works projects
- Knowledge of Caltrans procedures
Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
Expected Salary: $85,500- $174,600, depending on experience level, location and other qualifications. Employee's hourly rate may increase if/when they perform services that are covered by California's Prevailing Wage laws on public sector projects, or are covered by other applicable wage and hour laws.
WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
