WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time, Cost Analyst for our Foster City, CA office.
Your Impact
- Assist in the administration, development and implementation of project data and workflows in the Project Management Information System (PMIS) eBuilder, to ensure all data input is regularly checked for errors, is correct, complete and matters resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide necessary project control guidance and training as required for new team members to familiarize individuals with eBuilder, Oracle, general practices, department procedures and routine reporting requirements.
- Provide regular communication on project cost, schedule and risk status to project team members and stakeholders.
- Manage and report project cost and schedule data by reviewing headcount, performance drivers, financial and non-financial metrics, business objectives, and targets.
- Ensure the projects within the program are following cost and schedule reporting guidelines.
- Report on productivity and cost tracking metrics for engineering and construction firms and internal project management teams.
- Develop, report, and manage cost data for project benchmarking.
- Assist with maintaining FP&A accrual reports as necessary
- Coordinate with Master Scheduler to ensure alignment of accruals, pay applications and reported schedule progress.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and suppliers as necessary to post accruals.
- Perform final project cost closeout activities and assist Project Managers with closing out open commitments and purchase orders in order to establish the final total cost of projects.
- Interface with company financial systems as necessary to analyze costs as necessary.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis functions as needed to address immediate concerns in a timely manner.
- Assist Project Managers with creating, reviewing, and submitting contract requests, work order requests and purchase orders
- Assist Project Managers with estimate reviews
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline desired, but not required with applicable experience.
- 3-5 years experience in technology
- Experience in establishing project control systems and procedures and developing project reports and documentation.
- EVM development, implementation and analysis experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in schedule reviews.
- Knowledge of cost management systems and practices.
- High level of experience in scope/change management and claims mitigation and forensic analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint).
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management, schedule or cost management training or certification through Project Management Institute (PMI) or American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) or other relevant industry organizations.
- Background knowledge of the civil engineering and construction industry desired.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Criteria and methods.
- Knowledge of project controls software such as eBuilder, Oracle, Procore and InEight desired.
