This Opportunity
WSP is seeking an entry level Environmental Engineer with an engineering background to support our growing environmental assessment and remediation practice in the South Florida Region. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- This position will support the on a variety of assessment and remediation field tasks
- Installing and logging soil borings, collection of soil, groundwater, vapor, sediment and surface water samples, and assisting with the completion of aquifer testing
- Drilling oversight during installation of groundwater monitoring wells
- Operation of construction equipment for installation of soil and groundwater remediation systems and excavation of contaminated soil
- Perform other field related activities as assigned by the Project Manager
- Limited overnight travel
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- BS or equivalent degree in environmental engineering
- 1 - 4 years of environmental experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
- Ability to understand the regulations and interpret analytical data and preparation of technical reports
- Frequent travel is expected with ability to properly maintain project field documentation and communicate in field with Project Manager
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently, under minimal supervision is expected
- Ensure compliance with strict safety guidelines
- Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required; May include weekend work
- Must pass background check and possess a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
- Will be routinely lifting equipment, installing soil borings with hand augers, and carrying laboratory sample coolers etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification
- Knowledge of FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
