This Opportunity
WSP has an outstanding opportunity for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Consultant/Environmental Scientist to join our Earth & Environment Team. The position will be based from either our Marlton, NJ or Exton, PA office (Hybrid). This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional to advancetheir career and collaborate with professional experts within a leading global consulting company.
Your Impact
Perform and manage EHS compliance audits, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and EHS risk assessments.
Synthesize large amounts of information contained in regulatory files, environmental permits, and other environmental documentation.
Provide EHS compliance program support for industrial clients including developing EHS procedures, preparing and submitting permit applications, regulatory reports and related documents, and delivering EHS training programs.
Develop, support and implement ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 EHS management systems.
Prepare written and verbal technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigations, evaluation of regulatory findings and develop graphical and tabular presentations for data interpretation.
Manage tasks and projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget.
Assist in managing and developing client relationships.
Mentor junior staff.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Earth Science or a related discipline.
5 years of experience with a working knowledge of U.S. environmental laws including but not limited to RCRA, CERCLA, SARA, CWA, and CAAand New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania state environmentalregulations. International regualory knowledge a plus.
Experience evaluating/maintaining EHS regulatory compliance in industrial settings.
Strong analytical skills, independentproblem solving, using knowledge gained from increasing experience.
Interest and proficiency in investigative work with high attention to detailis critical to this position.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential.
Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous substances. Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites.
Valid US driver's license.
Must be willing to make trips on short notice, including to local sites, and travel via air or land. Overnight travel is required
Understanding the importance of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harrassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13.
Experience in air permitting and asbestos surveys and management.
Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI) auditing or compliance experience. #LI-BJ1
