WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Office Engineer/Inspector for our Valhalla, New York office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- The Office Engineer will assist the EIC/Resident Engineer manage daily construction management and inspection which includes:
- Responsible for record keeping, payment entries, correspondence, compiling and delivering of required reports.
- Attend various project meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes.
- Review daily inspection reports and payment quantities in accordance with client requirements.
- Prepare monthly estimates, confirm material certifications, contractor payrolls and other required submittals for payments.
- Prepare Change Orders for overruns, changed conditions and additional work.
- Log and Coordinate with the designer to respond to Contractors’ submittals, RFI's and shop drawings.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on developing business development opportunities and cross-selling of additional WSP services.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
- NICET IV, OSHA 10 hour certification
- Past experience as an office engineer with NYSDOT
- Ability to supervise inspection staff
- Ability to review/approve shop drawings, contractor schedules, permit and inspection requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Site Manager, EBO and Business Objects
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Past experience as an office engineer with local let projects is a plus
- ACI Certification is a plus
Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $85,500 - $174,600
