The sucessful candidate for Senior Scheduler will be part of project controls staff developing schedules, conducting oversight of design-build contractor schedules, performing schedule analysis, and evaluating delay claims.
Your Impact
- Monitor, track, analyze, forecast and report on program and project schedules, including Integrated Master Program Schedule (IMPS), and contractor baseline schedules and progress updates.
- Lead effort on behalf of owner to review contractor schedule submittals, including proposed work breakdown structure, baseline schedules, monthly progress updates, recovery schedules, and other contractual schedule submittals.
- Support project controls team in analyzing contractor monthly progress updates and claimed progress.
- Work with other project controls disciplines to review proposed schedule of values from contractor, and to develop claiming rules that are reasonable and support accurate but timely assessment of progress and review of monthly claimed progress.
- As needed, maintain a shadow schedule to properly document project progress should contractor schedule updates be insufficient, delayed, or otherwise not available.
- As required, support implementation and ongoing operation of earned value management systems.
- Generate schedule assessment reports to summarize findings from review of contractor schedule submittals.
- Support development and updates to IMPS, including recommending appropriate level of integration with contractor schedules.
- Assist the project controls team in implementing processes to optimize efficiencies and embed quality.
- Work with subject matter experts (SME) in estimating, risk management and cost management to ensure consistencies across other project controls disciplines for project and program level reporting.
- Exercises responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- At least fifteen years of project experience in performing similar project controls functions such as schedule development, schedule evaluation, contractor scheduler review, and time impact analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in areas related to Construction Engineering/Management or Business degree with market-specific work experience.
- Knowledge of the Public Sector Transportation industry specifically the areas of Project Controls and Scheduling.
- Working experience and proficiency in Primavera P6 and related analysis and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio, etc.)
- Strong understanding of scheduling standards and conventions, including development of work breakdown structures, best practices regarding schedule development, and conventions regarding analysis of schedules to assess delay
- Demonstrated experience in developing and or analyzing schedules on design-build or other large transportation or transit infrastructure projects preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle variety of assigned tasks and workload.
- Clear and excellent communication skills – oral and written.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
