The Production Assistant role is crucial to accomplishing the WFMT and WFMT Radio Networks’ objectives of producing and distributing quality audio content to listeners in Chicago and around the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Upload programs to Content Depot and PRX
· Operate WFMT Air Control Board for Live events and WideOrbit operations
· Route audio signal for remote feeds via IP
· Create cue sheets for syndicated programs
· Monitors live programming and On-Air signal
· Place and retrieve programs on FTPs, Dropbox, and other file transfer services
· Convert audio files (FLAC, MP2, MP3, WAV, etc.)
· Transfer announcer-read commercials and local shows to WideOrbit for broadcast, as necessary
· Provide copies of selected programming for special requests from listeners and sales
· Record and edit various program modules for broadcast
· Distribute programs to WFMT Radio Network affiliates
· Ripping CDs using Adobe Audition
· Quality control local and network programs
· Assist Producers and Engineers
· Other duties as assigned
SKILLS:
· Knowledge of radio broadcast equipment
· Advanced computer skills
· Digital audio editing
· Familiar with Microsoft Office, Content Depot, Adobe Audition, Wide Orbit
· Ability to handle multiple tasks
· Attention to detail
· Good communication skills
· Self-motivation
DESIRED EXPERIENCE : Four years hands-on experience.
