Description

The Controller in this position will serve as a financial advisor to the Divisional President and leadership team for strategic planning purposes and support of the organization’s growth. The Controller position will be planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions. Functions include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The Controller will work to enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.

Requirements

Responsibilities/daily tasks

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.
• As a business partner, recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
• Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
• Provides strategic financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Build relationships with both internal & external auditors and provides needed information and ensure compliance to internal controls.
• Mandatory reporting deadlines with complete and accurate submittals need to be met with consistency.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Evaluate operations for financial opportunities to maximize business profitability
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills are a must, as well as willingness to accept and task ownership of new responsibilities in a fast-growing environment.
• Must be highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
• Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams.
• The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, MBA preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
• At least 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company.
• Extensive Manufacturing and Inventory Control experience required.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to travel as needed.
  
  

Salary Description

$125K per year
