Position Overview:
The Quotation Specialist is responsible for the overall management of customer quotations - from inception to delivery of a viable customer proposal. This position is responsible for the identification of fasteners and related C-Part items from customers blueprints, samples and/or specifications; identification of viable sources in order to successfully publish request for quotes in alignment with the WINA sourcing initiatives; quotation and costing of parts focused on the accurate, competitive and profitable response to new customer opportunities; collaboration and coordination of stakeholders who are part of any quotation activity; and any necessary activities to be undertaken in sustaining a competitive, collaborative and professional strategy and approach to quotation activities for the WINA Enterprise.

QUOTE SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the Quotes Date base to manage RFQs
- Able to manage multiple line RFQs in tight deadlines
- Negotiate and leverage buy to secure lowest cost providers
- Manage supplier selection and provide feedback to suppliers on performance
- Can handle diverse commodity categories
- Able to assist team members when necessary
- Daily use of Excel, Power Point, and Outlook at a high level
- Ensure accurate first time quoting
- Manage supplier deviations and track assumptions
- Thoroughly inspect customer blueprints, samples, and/or specifications to accurately identify parts and prepare for quotation.
- Investigate discrepancies and inaccuracies of customer’s product samples and blueprints by working with Engineering and/or Outside Sales.
- Provide technical interpretation of customer bid specifications, including quality requirements.
- Develop sourcing and pricing strategy to address specific material/items in each quote request.
- Evaluate and control price add-ons to raw purchase cost such as secondary processing, freight costs, tooling and other costs.
- Continually assess and build the quotation requirements for customer specific RFQs.
- Generate the sales quotes within the established guidelines in a timely manner and present them to Sales Management team.
- Manage the S-Tool process to assure articles are accurately created in a timely fashion.
- Use multiple sources including vendors and internet to source products.
- Review and influence final proposal in the quote submission process.
QUOTE SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in purchasing and/or sourcing activities; Sourcing, quality or engineering background, and/or experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
- Basic technical knowledge of fasteners and related products.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with outside vendors and Company customers.
- Exemplary research and analytical skills.
- Professional communication and negotiation ability.
- Experience in dimensional verifications and other test equipment/instruments.
- Microsoft Office Products with Exceptional Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to excel in a metrics driven organization
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to organize and manage workload to meet deadlines.
