Job Title: Controller
Shift: 8:00an-5:00pm, M-F or as needed
Location: Frankfort, NY or Louisville, KY
Pay: $120,000/year
The primary mission of a Controller is to oversee the ongoing accounting processes, controls, and reporting functions of the Organization. This includes budget development, and financial analysis. In addition, this position is responsible for the overall activities of the accounting and credit functions and the internal and external activities of record keeping and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESONSIBIITES:
- Oversee the daily activities of the accounting and credit/collection departments.
- Review, monitor and perform the company's cash management functions and reports, including daily bank funding and approving wire transfers or other payments for import vendors.
- Responsible for working with executive management and team leaders to prepare the annual company and departmental budget.
- Oversee the monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. Prepare the monthly financial reporting package.
- Authorize and sign any Accounts Payable company checks as needed.
- Serve as corporate liaison with Independent Auditors and Internal audit teams, direct the gathering of information related to these audits. Perform periodic internal controls to evaluate the company's accounting systems.
- Prepare certain financial reports required by company management and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee the fixed asset and depreciation system and monitor the recording of new assets and the disposal of assets.
- Work with insurance agents to provide adequate insurance coverage to protect the company against property and liability losses.
- Assist in development and implementation of company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
- Work with management to monitor and dispose of any unusable inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Required to have a bachelor's degree in the Financial or Accounting fields.
- MBA in Finance or Accounting field and/or CPA preferred.
- Must have 7-10 years of experience in the Financial or Accounting field, including 4-5 years of supervisory experience.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Proficient in Accounting Software and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to be organized, thorough and accurate.
- Maintain confidentiality with company related issues and materials.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
