Wylie Foods, LLC is a small business in Atlanta, GA 30316.
This is a unique opportunity for the right individual. We are building out a new restaurant, east side of in-town Atlanta, specializing in Island inspired dishes with a Rum focused bar - restaurant name to be released soon. Our culinary partner is from Cuba and we have developed most of our menus with influences from the Caribbean - but these are creative and not traditional dishes! Our new Bar Manager would be involved in setting up the bar, testing, tasting and creating Specialty Drinks for adding to the menu!
The Bar manager would help source products, establish all vendors and accounts and set up the new restaurant from scratch. Construction will start February 14 with completion scheduled for May 1. Anticipate opening late May, 2022. We hope to hire a manager by April 1 latest, starting full time by April 15 - candidate could be working out notice and consulting at the same time if needed - we're flexible!
The restaurant will be managed by a team consisting of the Kitchen Manager, the Bar Manager and the hands-on Owner. Initially the kitchen will be open six days a week 11am to 10pm but Bar hours will be later!
Our Bar Manager would be responsible for all aspects of the bar and beverage program for the restaurant and would work closely with the Owner and Kitchen Manager in ALL areas. Applicant would work and supervise all bar operations with substantial authority over the front of the house including all to-go orders. Responsibilities include working, supervising and maintaining a fully-stocked bar and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. This is a hands-on position and you will be responsible for ensuring that all drinks and plates are properly served and our customers have a truly exceptional experience in our restaurant. This is not a MBA position (M*anagement By walking A*round)
This restaurant will either do $2.5 million or only 1MM depending on your execution so naturally your compensation will be tied to results / tips!
Ongoing Responsibilities could include but not limited to:
- Everything involved in managing a restaurant/Bar and coordinate all orders
- Supervise beverage service
- Flawless service, safety and sanitation
- Establish alcohol/beverage portion sizes and cost control
- Schedule Bar staff shifts
- Price drinks in collaboration with the Owner
- Place all orders and maintain inventory
- Store products in compliance with safety practices
- Keep weekly and monthly inventory and cost reports in line with budgets
Skills
These are some boilerplate essentials that are pretty darn obvious!
- Proven work experience as a Head Bartender or Bar Manager
- Hands-on experience with planning drink menus and ordering ingredients
- Familiarity with sanitation and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Conflict management abilities
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
- Availability to work during evenings and weekends
- Certification from a school of hard knocks!
- Basic computer skills
