SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing company performance versus prior year, prior month, budget, etc. The role is an independent contributor and does not have any team members reporting to him/her. The impact on the organization includes, but is not limited to:
- Identifying favorable trends that the company can take advantage of to improve performance.
- Identifying unfavorable trends that the company must address to improve performance.
- Highlighting key performance metrics for management to be aware of and act upon.
This role is a highly analytical role where most time is spent analyzing data, reviewing such analyses with management, and making recommendations on how to improve company performance. The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing month-end schedules such as actual vs. budget, actual vs. prior year/month, etc. He/she is also responsible for preparing one-off/custom analyses as he or she sees fit or as requested by management.
