Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the year-round maintenance, repair and operation of Xanterra maintenance in Gardiner, MT, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Roosevelt Lodge area facilities within Xanterra's land assignment and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Engineering - Facilities. Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Responsible for on-the-job safety of all maintenance personnel and mitigation of risks to other employees and park visitors who may be affected by maintenance and repair activities.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, management, support, and leadership of maintenance staff consisting of both year-round and seasonal employees.
- Provide the administrative, physical, and technical skills necessary for year-round troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operation of Xanterra’s facilities, equipment, and assets.
- Responsible for scheduling and supervising all location maintenance personnel and managing an after-hours on-call program to ensure rapid and appropriate response to any calls for service that cannot wait until morning for resolution.
- Responsible for the continuous development, enhancement, and implementation of cyclic, predictive, and preventive maintenance procedures for related responsibilities.
- Deliver high-quality communication between all departments, contractors, support staff, and NPS to ensure available resources are being allocated and prioritized effectively.
- Accountable for the accurate documentation of work performed and materials consumed. This information shall be fully documented in the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Attends NPS Periodic Inspections and ensures any maintenance issues are appropriately resolved.
- Responsible for maintaining an organized, properly stocked inventory of repair parts and supplies.
- Assists in the review of plans and specifications for construction and remodeling projects with an emphasis on ensuring systems and facilities are designed with due consideration for ease of maintenance and operation.
- Use the appropriate tools and materials needed for the completion of work orders in a safe and efficient manner.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, healthy, respectful, and cooperative work environment.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with a polite demeanor and professional appearance.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with limited supervision, and willing to occasionally work overtime and/or nights.
Qualifications
- Must have advanced knowledge of, and experience in facility maintenance and operation. Facilities Management experience in the hospitality industry is desired but not necessarily required.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by previous employment and education.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical to this position.
- Must have the ability to lead maintenance staff towards a common purpose, establish and achieve meaningful goals and objectives.
- Must demonstrate the skills required to effectively, efficiently, and autonomously manage a unique and historic maintenance operation.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to regroup and “manage on the fly” as unplanned requirements and situations present themselves.
- Must be a self-starter, able to troubleshoot problems, ask the right questions and have the confidence to make hard decisions based on the best information available.
- Must possess knowledge of OSHA General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926) standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as the confidence, willingness, and ability to become proficient in the CMMS, timekeeping (KRONOS) and other mission-critical computer-based systems.
Physical Requirements include:
- May require the use of respiratory protection and compliance with the applicable respiratory protection program regulations, including restrictions on the length and location of facial hair.
- May require work in confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces.
- Able to walk up to a half mile over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, stand, bend, kneel and crawl in all types of weather conditions at elevations exceeding 6,000 ft.
- Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Possess physical stamina to perform heavy labor in an outside environment.
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a good driving record for the past 3 years.
