The focus of this internship is to provide the student with a broad look at the electrical utility industry through entry-level tasks. This intern will provide assistance on electrical substation projects through aiding Designers and Engineers in the design, fieldwork, and print preparation for major capital projects. Work may include some special assignments.Minimum Requirements:Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year technical education program at a post-secondary institution focusing on drafting or electrical/technical degreeBasic computer skills and aptitude are requiredApplicants need strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasksProficiency in Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Requirements:Able to work 10-20 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours a week during the summerMicrostation and/or AutoCAD experience preferredWithin reasonable commuting distance to Amarillo, TX_______________________________________________________________________________________________Xcel Energy is committed to the safety of its employees and customers, and promotes a Safety Always culture.
