The Supplier manager for this role supports Global Delivery and Manufacturing organization by driving Supplier Optimization for the Global Direct Procurement Supplier base. Maximize supplier performance and quality and ensure continuity of supply to protect revenue. Utilize Global Procurement standards, tools, and practices to minimize risk and maximize the opportunity.
Responsibilities:
As part of the Global Direct Procurement team, support the effective management of the Global Direct Procurement supplier base for equipment and consumables manufacturing.Manage Business Resumption Planning process for Consumables, Spares, and Equipment Production. Assess and manage supplier risks through business resumption plan reviews including financial health and risk assessment, revenue impact to business risk.
Establish category sourcing strategies in alignment with internal stakeholders in order to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership and to gain access to best-in-class products and technologies.
Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers with principal objective of achieving benchmark quality, cost, delivery and service level performance. Facilitate ongoing vendor governance, interact with Executive and Senior level management within Xerox and Vendor’s organization, and identify opportunities for quality, cost and delivery improvement.
Meet with key business stakeholders frequently and participate in strategy development and product roadmap discussions. Act as a trusted advisor to key internal stakeholders.
Identify, achieve and report monthly on productivity opportunities/projects. Develop productivity initiatives tied to commodity pricing, market trends, supplier contract negotiations
Continue to consolidate and rationalize supplier base, including working with engineering and product team on redesign and resourcing parts/products.
Establish Industry connections / networking and participate in Industry forums to stay current with market and industry trend.
Lead product sourcing/resourcing process, from identification of emerging technologies and potential/new suppliers, clarifying requirements, facilitating vendor request for proposal / evaluation / selection steps, negotiating and contracting agreements (multiple levels of contracts).
Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and facilitate supplier communication with internal stakeholders (Engineering/Manufacturing, Supply-Chain, Finance, Legal) as appropriate. Facilitate regular discussions with Suppliers to review: systemic issues, improvement initiatives, communicate sourcing process changes, and general relationship topics.
Negotiate, implement, and manage contract terms and conditions favorable to Xerox.
Participates in Supplier Executive Relationship forums to foster a collaborative environment, including working on future strategies, specific topics, or issue remediation.
Make frequent visits to suppliers' manufacturing sites and conduct inspection to ensure compliance and achieve most optimum cost structure for parts/products/services.
Develop and manage supplier performance criteria and perform yearly evaluations for ongoing relationships decisions, including disengagement.
Support Continuity of Supply - Negotiate with supplier to keep producing parts for Xerox and extensions of ATB/LTB as required. Resource/identify alternate suppliers and support the final team recommendation of resource, redesign, or ATB
Focus on working capital improvement by negotiating favorable pay-terms and supporting supply chain with inventory reduction goals.
Using market intelligence tools and should-cost modeling, conduct internal and external benchmarking to ensure current rates, policies and processes are competitive and efficient for assigned categories; proactively anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed.
Report and formally present analysis of spend outlook, causals, countermeasures, and industry impact to senior management.
Candidate Skills and Education:
Strong Business Acumen (MBA or MS, Manufacturing Management preferred)4-year Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or similar) and/or Purchasing/Supply Chain preferred
- 4 years ofprocurement experience including negotiation, contract-writing, and strategy (CPSM or equivalent a plus)
Ability to quickly understand business problems and develop solutions.
Strong data analysis and data mining skills
Strong project management skills: Demonstrated Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively to get results.
Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills, including formal presentations.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers without compromising organizational objectives and comfortable with all levels of management.
Above average Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Process oriented and analytical in approach; LSS Green Belt a plus.
