Corporate Counsel

The Role

We are seeking an experienced legal counsel with proven commercial legal experience to support our corporate legal function. A successful Corporate Counsel will be diligent, possess a deep-seated knowledge of commercial law, and have extraordinary communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including sales, distribution, production, equipment purchase, manufacturing, and procurement agreements.
• Provide global legal support for Xos fleet sales, charging and energy storage products, and service operations.
• Coordinate the development of (i) a streamlined and scalable internal contracting process and (ii) company-wide policies and processes.
• Leverage prior experience to assist in the development, improvement, management and maintenance of our standard contract forms and procedures.
• Advise business stakeholders on best practices and develop and implement training and education programs.
• Identify and advise on non-standard terms and associated risks, contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure to relevant business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Law degree (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution.
• Standing in at least one state bar (California or Michigan preferred)
• 5 years of substantive commercial law experience at a top law firm, automotive or manufacturing company, or a combination thereof.
