Job Description
Area Coordinator
The Area Coordinator will act as the primary liaison and manager for regional community outreach or educational programs within XP Synergy Companies and coordinate their major functions. The AC works with and under the direction of one or more Directors to support comprehensive programs intended to engage a diverse population of individuals in the work readiness process and enrich the lives of youth participants through educational opportunities and life-altering experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead in the development of short and long-term plans for programs, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
- Lead in design of performance objectives and implement and monitor programming to meet desired outcomes.
- Develop yearly outreach plan according to program needs and capacity
- Ensure database(s) maintenance which include(s) participant and prospect information and mailing list.
- Organize and establish meetings on regular basis with designated individuals to foster positive relationships.
- Supervise Program Assistants, Youth Development Instructors, Job Coaches, and Community Resource Specialist by articulating expectations, displaying model behavior, maintaining open lines of communication and being clear about roles and relationships.
- Organize training seminars to address staff needs and identify relevant external training opportunities.
- Assist with the development of public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness.
- Develop specific internship and job opportunities that match the participants’ skills, work experience, related training and interests.
- Screen and match Opportunity Now participants with employment or internship opportunities based on their skills, work experience, hobbies and interests.
- Maintain relationships with existing employers and establish relationships with new employers who are willing to hire Opportunity Now participants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation services, or related disciplines, with 4 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge of principles and practices related to youth development, work readiness, educational issues, community services, or adult workforce development.
- Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experienced in developing and managing budgets, hiring, and training, supervising and assessing personnel.
- Must be highly organized and able to work well with others.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer application and database management.
- Able to work with a variety of populations, including at-risk youth and adults, and individuals with disabilities.
- Event planning; Curriculum planning and implementation.
- Flexible; possessing the ability to wear different, “hats” on short notice.
- Must have reliable, independent transportation and be willing to travel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $44,500.00 per year
