As the Analyst, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), you will provide environmental compliance support for NPDES, CWA, UST/AST RCRA and EPCRS. You will develop, interpret and implement environmental compliance requirements within the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) organization, as well as perform technical analyses and modeling to determine present and future environmental compliance. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Work with Environmental Compliance staff to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; support the implementation of corrective action plans to resolve problematic issues and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
- Prepare presentations for training and awareness of compliance issues, and coordinate specialized training activities
- Partner with Environmental Compliance, Operations and contractors to ensure compliance with federal, state and local air quality reporting and record keeping requirements
- Support an effective compliance communication program, including promoting a compliance-based culture and understanding the impact of new and existing compliance issues
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Safety and Security, Government Relations, Legal, HR and Operations) to resolve compliance issues
- Provide reports on a regular basis and keep the Environmental Compliance management team informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts
- Interpret and communicate complex regulatory requirements to both environmental and non-environmental management
- Cultivate continuous improvement mentality of environmental compliance, cost reduction and lean thinking across the business unit
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 1 year of analysis experience
It’d be great if you also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environment, Biology or Engineering
- Experience with storm water management and writing SWPPP, SPCC and facility environmental compliance
- Experience with Microsoft Access and SharePoint
