POSITION TITLE: Design Technology Associate

REPORTS TO: Design Technology Manager

The role is responsible for the creating, implementing, and maintaining the systems and standards required for YP’s design teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated design. The role will directly increase the technical competency of all staff and improve the firm’s ability to achieve innovative design. A key success metric for this role is the ability of the studio to leverage technology, resources, tools and knowledge to produce work effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in BIM/VDC initiatives across the company, working closely with Design Technology Managers to support project execution;
- Provide Revit project support including troubleshooting, training, file maintenance, and content creation;
- Assist in virtual and in-office Revit training, solving questions and helping sessions advance as scheduled;
- Collectively build and maintain design content including families and documentation standards with the larger Design Technology team and external contractors;
- Document tools, procedures, and essential workflows to assist with the communication and standardization of design;
CHARACTERISTICS FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architecture Technology, or related field;
- 2 years of experience in Revit (academic or professional) with an emphasis on project coordination, family creation and design documentation,
- Work experience in architecture, engineering, and construction role a plus;
- Experience using data visualization tools a plus;
- Experience using Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, or equivalent to improve design operations a plus;
