Yahoo is composed of organizations, each led by a GM, driving key product lines. This role is within the Yahoo Communications group, which includes its flagship product, Yahoo Mail (with 200M monthly users). You will be starting on offense; the product line (4.5 star apps & responsive web experiences), business, and tech (modern front-end stacks with significant backend re-architecture just beginning) provides a healthy start, with lots of upside to realize. About the role
Lead & grow the product organization for Yahoo Communications (flagship product: Yahoo Mail), responsible for delivering on both product strategy and execution, identifying customer needs, and working with cross functional teams to design and build remarkable experiences that grow the business
You report directly to the GM of Yahoo Communications and be part of the leadership team shaping strategy & tactics (product managers report to you; other roles like engineering, design, and program management will report to your peers)
Maintain strong working relationships with key business & technology stakeholders at the most senior levels within Yahoo and partners
Improve large-scale existing properties and refreshing with net new experiences and adjacent products (improvement on the core, and innovation in what's next)
Shape a vision, providing leadership to develop strategic assets through innovation, creativity, and technology in the Communications vertical for Yahoo
Responsibilities
You will lead & own consumer product for this organization & all that entails, notably:
Take a customer-focused and evidence-based approach to defining, executing, and delivering a product roadmap and product strategy
Be accountable for driving key business metrics including user engagement & growth
Manage, mentor, develop, and grow a team of product managers
Represent the product internally and externally
Raise the quality bar for all teams that contribute to product experiences
Collaborate closely with other product leaders; especially to drive and define a vibrant product culture
Assist in guiding significant technical investment and architectural decisions, to support long-term product initiatives
Collaborate with senior leaders across Engineering, Design, Customer Success and Marketing to develop and execute Yahoo Mail's strategy
Lead all consumer-facing product functions and have a voice in how we grow and build the organization
Anticipate the company's needs as we scale and grow, ensuring existing team members and the broader company are inspired by the product vision
Qualifications
Track record of driving consumer internet product growth through product creation or improvement (growth tactics substantial increase in core product value)
Experience building highly engaging consumer software experiences at scale, across a multi-product suite
Experience creating business cases for new product capabilities/innovations
Preferred experience: Expanding & enhancing a legacy product line
Experience defining a product strategy, with deep understanding of how investments will ladder up to that strategy through initiatives and roadmaps
Successful track record of leading complex product strategies across a breadth of disciplines
Demonstrated user empathy
End-to-end ownership mindset
Impeccable consumer experience product sense
Ability to clearly communicate, verbally, and in written form - especially necessary when explaining how product initiatives drive business success

The compensation for this position ranges from $253,050.00 - $469,950.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
