Assstant Manager - QC
Job Summary This position works to assist the QC Manager in managing all aspects of daily quality control which consists of; daily quality checks, customer claim resolution, lot control, inspection, sorting, and the handling of abnormal and no good product. Ensures that a company wide quality system is in place and adhered to. Also drives the company wide quality improvement program, making the company proactive rather than reactive.
Essential Functions
- Monitors cost of quality and develops strategies to reduce costs.
- Tracking of customer index point.
- Leads or assisting in investigations to determine root causes including issues of customer complaints.
- Provides or determines and implements countermeasures to ensure no recurring defects.
- Provides Quality Training.
- Supervises supplier activities to ensure only quality products are received by YNA.
- Ensures proper lot markings are in place on all YNA parts.
- Provides assistance with Quality Control Circle Activities.
- Prepares information for the Quality Control Manager concerning information regarding weekly and monthly meetings.
- Reviews and approves documentation and processes.
Other Functions
- Interacts with coworkers, customers, and suppliers, and government officials
- Maintains a clean working environment.
- Continuously seeks to improve processes and procedures.
- Promotes a safe working environment for all Associates.
- Leads the Quality Control Department when the Quality Control Manager is absent from the plant.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education Bachelors degree in Engineering, Professional Certification or equivalent experience, preferred.
Experience Three to Five years Quality Control experience in a high volume machining or production environment, including broad based knowledge of Quality Systems and Quality Control Tools.
Skills Strong written and oral communication skills, understanding of TQM and Six Sigma methodology, fortitude necessary to enforce quality guidelines.
Working Conditions The position requires the ability to work in a climate controlled office and manufacturing facility, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 25 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
Travel This position requires frequent travel to customer and supplier locations. A valid driver's license is required.
