Directs plant quality assurance effort with emphasis on identification and solution of process, material or labor problems that could compromise plant and division quality commitments. Provide customer and supplier contacts relating to quality performance of a technical nature.
- Responsible for plant quality control systems to insure that controls are functioning in the areas of process, purchased material and final product quality to maintain internal and external quality costs while ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Consults with plant management in preparation of the annual quality budget. Makes commitments to quality plans for the plant.
- Supervises preparation of all quality reports and analyzes reports to identify problems. Assists plant managements to achieve desired results.
- Performs special studies and analyses at the request of plant or division management.
- Contacts customers or suppliers regarding resolution of quality or product liability problems of a technical nature (includes customers and supplier visits)
Bachelor's Level Degree Area of Study: Quality, Engineering, Technical or other related business degree *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualifications
- 5-9 Years of experience in quality management and customer interaction.
- 5-9 Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
- Travel may be required to manufacturing plants or customer locations which may require lifting or working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Green Belt or Black Belt training/certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of external quality standards (e.g., VDA, IATF, ISO, customer) and requirements.
- Advanced knowledge/training in core Quality Tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.) and problem-solving methodologies.
