What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Yard Works, LLC?
Job Summary:
Heavy Equipment Loader Operators are responsible for the proper and safe operation of heavy equipment on their site. It is their responsibility to operate company heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way to ensure production and quality goals of each job are met. Each loader operator is furthermore responsible for the daily maintenance of the equipment they operate.
Customer Service:
· Must be able and willing to help run the retail desk when needed.
· Serving and retaining customers and building customer relationships.
· Educating customers on products and services offered.
· Demonstrate professionalism in all communication, verbal and written.
Safety/Security:
· Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
· Ensure all proper Personal Protective Equipment is being utilized correctly.
· Complete all safety checks prior to operating machinery.
· Maintain skilled control over equipment at all times.
· Call Emergency Services, Safety Manager, and Direct Supervisor in the event of an accident or incident.
· Ensure that equipment is secure when in use.
· Ensure trailers are positioned in appropriate place and locked to prevent theft and vandalism.
· Secure fuel trucks making sure they are locked, not leaking and away from the street.
· Report problems with any equipment as soon as you see the issue.
Maintenance:
· Ensure timely lubrication of equipment at all grease points.
· Make sure air filters are blown daily.
· Check for leaks and cracks in all hoses, fittings, and wiring.
· Maintain clean cab at all times. Clean out all debris, sweep and clean windows daily.
· Ensure that the engine compartment, battery box, and storage areas are clear of debris.
· Complete all equipment checks and forms in a timely manner.
Additional Duties:
· All other duties requested by Supervisor and Management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
- Front End Loader: 2 years (Preferred)
