OVERVIEW:

The HR Business Partner will report to the Senior HR Business Partner and will support the delivery of People Operations processes, systems, and services.
This person will support the overall work of the HR Business Partner team by executing and delivering on a range of responsibilities, including consulting with staff and people managers on processes throughout the employee lifecycle, supporting employee relations matters, and contributing to cross-functional projects.

To be successful in this role, you'll be a team player who is also comfortable working independently, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are asked to wear multiple hats at once.
Customer service and communication skills will always be top of mind, as you will be working with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.

joint coaching, mentoring, tutoring, etc.
).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Support and People Development

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the HR Business Partner Team ensuring that HR Help tickets are assigned to appropriate team members based on function, and/or topic
  • Produce and monitor HR Help and HR Acuity employee relations management reporting to ensure HR Business Partner team is meeting Service Level Agreements and providing high support to staff and leadership
  • Provide support and guidance to HR Generalists and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions, and issues arise
  • Support the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of HR-led compliance training and contribute to policy guidance and administration
  • Represent the HR Business Partner function as a primary point of contact for Workday business processes that span the employee lifecycle and the related reporting
  • Familiarize staff members and key stakeholder groups with human resources processes via informal and formal touchpoints; identifying business needs and partnering with the Senior HR Business Partner to prioritize and execute solutions

Project Management & Support

  • Oversee HR Business Partner projects, monitoring overall progress, timeline, and actions, and proactively reporting on these items to Senior HR Business Partner and interacting with staff as needed to drive projects to successful completion
  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to successfully execute on project items in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders and demonstrate proactive, user-friendly communication abilities; seek feedback on a regular basis to ensure HR Business Partner engagement model is evolving/improving at all times
  • Suggest process improvements and propose projects that will support continuous improvement of the HR Business Partner team's operating procedures and service to staff
  • Liaise with external vendors to support implementations, updates, renewals, and project-based needs

Site Team/Learning Community Member

  • May have an opportunity to serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students from time to time
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of overall work experience
  • 2-3 years experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred
  • Strong aptitude in the use of HR and Shared Services technology (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, HR Acuity, Workday, ServiceNow)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Discretion to handle confidential information
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Customer service mentality and can-do attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills
  • Ability to take initiative and successfully manage multiple projects at one time
  • A passion for working with young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Year Up has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets.
    For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
    Salary offers take into account a candidate's skills, experience, and location.
