Job description
Brief Description: The Group Home Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Group Home, supervision of staff and implementation of the agency’s mission, vision and values. Ensure quality services are provided to clients.
Hours: Monday thru Friday, varying shifts, additional hours as required for effective program operation, on-call.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred, with a minimum of three years experience working directly with youth in a residential setting (or combination of education or experience as approved by the Executive Director).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must have the ability to perform all the requirements described on the Youth Advocate and Case Manager descriptions.
- Reviews all intakes and distributes necessary paperwork to appropriate stakeholders regarding the placement and discharge of youth.
- Coordinates the distribution of all reports to applicable agencies regarding a youth’s placement.
- Is responsible for coordinating service plans for youth and families utilizing the placement to other services in the community that can provide relief for the family in crisis or runaway and homeless youth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Organized, thorough, assertive, and proactive.
- Positive work ethic, willingness, and ability to allow for a flexible schedule.
- Understanding of and ability to promote teamwork.
- Familiar with therapeutic intervention and treatment.
- Employee hiring, interviewing, supervision, support, training, evaluations, and discipline with the Director.
- Scheduling of staff to ensure adequate coverage and anticipating demands while staying within budget.
- Direct case management and maintaining caseload as needed.
- Supervision of case management and treatment plans.
- Assuring the agency philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures are followed.
- Reviewing and screening of referrals, recommend acceptance.
- Employee training through a developed training program, to include: in-services, workshops and conferences.
- Provide input for program, facility, financial and budgetary needs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
- Ability to change, as the job changes.
