Position Summary: Assure that the optometry objectives and priorities of the YKHC optometry programs are appropriate, and that the quality of services provided is maintained at a high standard. Planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the operation of the YKHC Optometry Program. Provide clinical optometry services within the priorities of the YKHC Optometry Department and oversee optometry health education efforts in the Subregional clinic and surrounding villages.
Position Qualifications:
· Minimum Education: OD Degree from an optometry school
· Minimum Experience: Two years experience as a clinical optometrist and/or two (2) years practice in Y-K Delta area preferred.
· License, Certification, Registration: Current optometry state license to practice. Credentials necessary for appointment to the Medical Staff of YKHC.
· Equipment/Tools/Word-Aids: Optometry equipment and instruments
· Specialized Knowledge and Skills: General and Clinical administrative knowledge preferred.
· Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise all Optometry Department employees.
