What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor - Springs Branch position at YMCA of Austin?
As Dance Instructor, you are responsible for set-up and take-down of dance equipment as needed for classes. You ensure that the dance studio is not left unattended. You conduct warm-up as assigned by the supervisor. Monitor the appropriate placement of dancers within classes and conduct evaluations of students and/or potential students. Communicate with the parents and students as needed. Maintain necessary records to track attendance in classes. Maintain music and choreograph dance routines. Plan and participate in the annual Spring Performance. Complete other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience
Availability: Shifts available: Select Weeknights and Saturday morning availability

- You greet members and their children (learn and use their names) and maintain an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child’s family and encourage their involvement in the program.
- You provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving, building self-esteem, and learning how to share and properly interact with others in ways that are appropriate to the development levels of the children.
- You interact with the children in a way, which conveys respect and nurturing and supports their social and emotional development.
- You protect the health, safety, and welfare of all children in the Child Watch area.
- You assist in the cleaning and straightening of the childcare rooms throughout the day and at the end of your shift.

- Education and Experience: You must be a minimum of 16 years old. Previous experience in a childcare setting. Experience caring for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. CPR and First Aid must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
